Frequently Asked Questions
How long will therapy take?
I offer both brief, goal-focused therapy and longer-term, open-ended therapy, depending on your needs and preferences. Therapy isn’t a quick fix; the duration varies based on your unique circumstances, the challenges you're facing, and what you hope to achieve. Individual sessions last 50 minutes, and we’ll regularly review your progress to ensure the approach continues to meet your goals.
Why do you charge for a consultation session when others do not?
An initial consultation gives us the opportunity to connect and explore whether the therapy I provide is the right fit for you. It is completely optional but can be a valuable step in your therapy journey. The fee reflects not just the time spent in our session but also the administrative work involved in scheduling, coordinating, and preparing for our meeting. This process requires time and attention to ensure I can offer the best possible support from the start.
Is therapy confidential?
Absolutely. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy, and I take it very seriously. What you share in our sessions remains private, with one important exception: if I believe there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, I am ethically required to act to ensure safety. This confidentiality applies to clients of all ages, including minors
Can I end the therapy at any time?
Yes, you can end therapy whenever you feel ready. While it’s beneficial to discuss your decision in advance, allowing us to reflect on your progress and plan for the transition, the choice to conclude therapy is entirely yours. Your well-being and comfort are the priority throughout the process.
